Monitoring
There are no specific requirements for monitoring after discharge; however, eligible patients may be asked to donate blood from 28 days after the date of discharge to be used in the treatment of patients with active infection.[208]
Patients should be offered structured follow-up after discharge, which includes access to comprehensive care to assess and treat complications (e.g., ocular disease, mental health symptoms, neurologic symptoms), nutritional assessment and support, psychosocial support, maternity care follow-up (for pregnant women), and follow-up to reduce onward transmission.[165]
