定义

OP 过去称为闭塞性细支气管炎伴机化性肺炎（bronchiolitis obliterans with organising pneumonia, BOOP），但这一术语与闭塞性细支气管炎这一完全独立的疾病存在一些混淆。[4] 因此，此病术语修订为机化性肺炎，分为隐源性和继发性。不过，一些临床医生仍然坚持使用较早期的术语。术语隐源性机化性肺炎（cryptogenic organising pneumonia, COP）是一个笼统的术语，是指原因不明的肺泡内机化炎症过程。[5] COP 可体现“腺泡性”疾病而非气道疾病，因此是首选术语，相比之下，BOOP 可能会与闭塞性细支气管炎这一名称混淆。[4]
闭塞性细支气管炎（炎症导致细支气管阻塞）和机化性肺炎的一些差异如下。喘息在 OP 患者中不常见；OP 患者听诊可闻及湿罗音，而非哮鸣音。OP 患者的 FEV1/FVC 比例正常或略微升高，而气道阻塞疾病中这一比例会降低；放射学检查表现为双侧斑片状浸润影，不同于气流阻塞疾病中的正常或过度充气表现。
