Acute bronchitis

Long-term monitoring of patients with acute bronchitis is rarely necessary. Symptoms resolve in most patients within a few weeks. Evaluation to rule out other causes of chronic cough such as asthmatic cough/eosinophilic bronchitis, reflux, postnasal drip, upper airway cough syndrome, or lung cancer may be necessary.
