Epidemiology

An estimated 10% of the adult population is affected by chronic sinusitis in the UK.[1] It occurs in all ages, sexes, and ethnic groups. Loss of productivity and missed work/school are a major economic factor, with patients suffering a significant decrease in quality of life. Quality-of-life scores are worse than those of other chronic diseases such as heart failure, asthma, and COPD.[2]
