Prevalence rates in the general adult population are likely to be between 2% and 4%;[3][4] about 7% of people with asthma also have chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.[3] Nasal polyps are thought to be present in 19% to 36% of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis, which in turn affects 14% to 16% of the US population at some stage, according to the National Health Interview Survey.[5]
