Our content is rigorously reviewed and updated daily by a team of internal editors and clinical experts. This ensures that BMJ Best Practice meets the highest standards of medical accuracy and relevance.

Dr Kieran Walsh, Clinical Director, BMJ Group
Dr Kieran Walsh is Clinical Director at BMJ. He is the clinical quality and safety lead of the medical education and clinical decision support products at BMJ. He has a vast amount of experience in online medical education, clinical decision support, face-to-face delivery of medical education, and both summative and formative assessment. He has published over 200 papers in the biomedical literature and has written four books: the first and only book on cost effectiveness in medical education; a dictionary of quotations in medical education; a history of medical education in 100 images; and the Oxford Textbook of Medical Education. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators, and Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University. In the past, he has worked as a hospital doctor specialising in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr Anna Ellis, Head of Editorial, Digital Health, BMJ Group
Anna was an editor on other products at BMJ Group, before becoming a Head of Editorial on BMJ Best Practice in 2017. Anna also trained and worked as a General Practitioner in London.
Sue King, Head of BMJ Best Practice, BMJ Group
Sue has worked for BMJ Group for more than 20 years and was responsible for launching BMJ Best Practice in 2009. She has a wealth of experience in product development and launched the market leading BMJ Best Practice app which is still the number one clinical decision support tool with a 4.9/5 app store rating.
Rachel Wheeler, Head of Editorial, Digital Health, BMJ Group
Rachel was an editor on other products at BMJ Group before becoming a Head of Editorial on BMJ Best Practice in 2023. She has over 30 years' editorial experience across a range of healthcare and medical education publishers. Rachel has an honours degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Anna Ellis and Rachel Wheeler are responsible for a talented team of editors, information specialists, content managers and digital production editors who make and update the content on BMJ Best Practice, along with our contributor network.
