We offer a number of ways to access BMJ Best Practice via your institution

Do you work for the NHS in England, Scotland or Wales?

If your institution has purchased BMJ Best Practice on your behalf, they will most likely have set up one of the following access methods:

OpenAthens/Shibboleth

If your institution provides access to BMJ Best Practice through OpenAthens or Shibboleth:

  1. Sign in with your credentials and you will then taken to BMJ Best Practice.
  2. If you are a new user, you will need to now register for a BMJ Best Practice user profile – it’s easy to do and only takes a minute to set up. Your user profile will enable you to track your CME/CPD activity and download the app for access anywhere, anytime, even offline.

Network/wifi (IP)

  1. If your organisation is providing access to BMJ Best Practice via their network/wifi (IP), please connect your device/computer to your institution’s network/wifi.
  2. Once connected, you should get instant access to BMJ Best Practice.
  3. If you are a new user, you will need to now register for a BMJ Best Practice user profile – it’s easy to do and only takes a minute to set up. Your user profile will enable you to track your CME/CPD activity and download the app for access anywhere, anytime, even offline.

Website/portal/intranet/EHR

If your institution has advised you to access BMJ Best Practice via their website/portal/intranet/EHR, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your institution’s website or EHR and find the link to BMJ Best Practice.*
  2. Click on the BMJ Best Practice link. You will then be taken to BMJ Best Practice website and get full access.
  3. If you are a new user, you will need to now register for a BMJ Best Practice user profile – it’s easy to do and only takes a minute to set up. Your user profile will enable you to track your CME/CPD activity and download the app for access anywhere, anytime, even offline.
