BMJ Best Practice partners with the NHS in the North of England

BMJ, one of the world’s leading medical knowledge providers, has agreed a partnership with the NHS in the North of England to provide BMJ Best Practice to NHS staff to support patient care across the region.

BMJ Best Practice is an online decision support tool that gives healthcare professionals fast and easy access to the latest information when making diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Updated daily, it draws on the latest evidence-based research, guidelines and expert opinion to offer step-by-step guidance on diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention. Links to the British National Formulary (BNF) and the British National Formulary for Children (BNFC) are also provided to support treatment decisions.

The new access for the NHS in the North of England includes staff working in clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), Acute, Mental Health, and Community Trusts across Yorkshire and The Humber, the North-West and the North-East of England.

BMJ Best Practice is available to staff immediately, and accessible online from the workplace or remotely via an award-winning app, providing crucial offline access for community-based professionals.

David Stewart, Director of Healthcare Libraries Unit North said: “The Health Care Libraries Unit North is committed to ensuring that all NHS staff and learners in the north of England have access to the best evidence to underpin clinical and management decision making, irrespective of the time of day or where they are working. BMJ Best Practice is a great resource to help us deliver our vision.”

Louise Crowe, Director for BMJ Knowledge said: “We are delighted to see health professionals across the North of England benefiting from the latest and most relevant clinical information from BMJ Best Practice. We look forward to collaborating with healthcare professionals in the region to help them deliver the highest standards of care for their patients, wherever they are.”
