  • Characterised by upper and lower respiratory tract symptoms of rhinorrhoea, cough, fever, chills, headache, and myalgia.
  • Typically presents in winter season.
  • Can occur in local community outbreaks, epidemics, and, rarely, pandemics.
  • Vaccination for prevention is available.
