Introduction
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are transmitted by sexual contact and may be caused by various types of pathogen, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. [1] STDs include infections where sexual contact is the only important mode of transmission, as well as infections that can be transmitted by non-sexual means and are not primarily considered STDs. Early detection and treatment of STDs reduces the spread of infections and can avoid or delay serious complications and consequences.
