Best Practice enhancements
We have made a number of new and important enhancements to the Best Practice website over the last few weeks. Here are the key features that have been added or updated:
- Latest 50 updated topics
Via a link from the Best Practice homepage, you can now view the ever-changing list of the 50 most recently updated monographs, including their clinical categories and publication dates, as soon as they are published to the website. - IFCC units listed for HbA1c measurements
In line with international standards, units of measurement for long-term blood glucose control (HbA1c) are now shown throughout Best Practice in IFCC units (mmol/mol) as well as in per cent (%). This is particularly useful for users in the UK, who are now able to easily compare local lab results with guideline levels within Best Practice. - Direct links to Clinical Evidence GRADE tables added to ‘Evidence’ sections
You will now be able to access GRADE tables directly from the ‘Evidence’ tab via links listed below the question list for all Clinical Evidence summaries within Best Practice. These tables list quality assessment scores for each of the PICO (patient, intervention, comparison, outcome) combinations, based upon the principles developed by the GRADE Working Group. Consistently evaluated criteria include study type, methodological quality, consistency across trials, directness (applicability and generalisability), and effect size. - Tabular format for My Best Practice
We present the My Best Practice feature in a new tabular format for a cleaner look and faster access without the need for unnecessary scrolling to your saved searches and bookmarks, institutional and personal notes, locally added guidelines and patient leaflets (for institutional users) and a page to manage access to multiple drug formularies (for subscribers to more than one drug formulary). - Option to link to multiple drug formularies
Customers now have the option to integrate with multiple drug databases as part of their Best Practice subscription. A new tab in My Best Practice allows the user to set a default drug formulary. Alternatively, the option to choose the most relevant medication resource is presented whenever a drug link is clicked in the ‘Treatment Details’ sections. When searching for a particular drug, search results will be returned for all available drug formularies. - New My Best Practice tab to view and manage all your Notes
You have always been able to save personal notes to pages in Best Practice but we have now created a new tab for you in My Best Practice to conveniently view, edit and delete all your notes from within a single registry. All notes are listed together with the date when they were created and, if applicable, last edited. The associated search box enables you to filter out notes relating to terms occurring in either the topic title or your entries. Institutional customers can also track who created/edited any given note.
